Thank a Weekend Outdoorsman Today

You say you like that new boat ramp or park.  Maybe you can appreciate that new trail that loops through the thousands of acres of Jack Pine set aside for the warblers.  There might be a new Wildlife Veiwing tower at your favorite recreation area or new toilets at your rustic campground.  Well, you can thank a Weekend Outdoorsman for those when you see him or her.

Here is a story about the $38 million or so awarded to Michigan and the more than $1.1 billion awarded nationwide for fish, wildlife, and recreation funding all courtesy of the purchase of guns, ammo, archery equipment, fishing equipment, and some electric and smaller outboards.  These are the taxes collected through Pittman Robertson.

If you don't purchase these things and tend to like to bitch about public lands ... just remember; "You didn't build that".  No really, you literally didn't build that.  We did.
